Are you ready to apply your data analysis skills to solve real-world business problem? Do you have a groundbreaking idea to help companies make better, data-driven decisions? The Haskayne Technology Club (HTC), in partnership with Keyera and Amazon Web Services (AWS), invites you to participate in a one-week Data Analytics Case Competition from February 21 to March 1, 2025.
Your mission: develop innovative insights using publicly available data to support Keyera’s Business Development Team in optimizing operations, identifying growth opportunities, and driving sustainability.
About the Competition
In Canada’s energy sector, data holds the key to innovation and efficiency. This competition focuses on the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin (WCSB), where teams will build a business intelligence dashboard to help Keyera make critical decisions about their assets and strategic direction. By joining this challenge, you’ll have the chance to showcase your creativity, technical expertise, and strategic thinking in a context that truly matters.

Who Can Participate?
We welcome all University of Calgary students—undergraduate or master’s—from any field of study (business, computer science, engineering, data science, etc.). Your diverse perspectives will enrich the competition and enhance teamwork.

Team Composition: At least one member with a business background and one with a technical background (e.g., computer science, data science, engineering, etc.).
